Students come in with the expectation of having information communicated to them, not with expectations that they A) have a general idea of what&#039;s going to happen over the next 4-8 years and will sit down with a counselor to talk it over, or B) that they even know exactly what they want from an advanced education. Many college students change their focus throughout their education, and I think colleges clearly outlining where they will/should be come the end of their program will help them make different and potentially better choices early on, to say nothing of the benefits provided in other areas.</description>

Looking back perhaps the challenge begins with defining the desired outcomes and then succinctly communicating the outcomes to students. It is hard to measure something before anyone knows what is to be measured.</description>
